COURSE STARTING MID JANUARY 2009
We are holding a course beginning in January 2009. This will amost certainly run on Monday evenings - if you are interested, or you know someone who might be, please phone Jill on 01530 837889 or Jane on 01530 223856

The Alpha Course: an opportunity to explore the meaning of life
Alpha is exactly what is says on the tin – an opportunity to explore life’s big questions in a relaxed, non-threatening setting. Each of the ten evenings is based around a meal, with a short talk and a time for discussion. All are welcome and no question is off limits.
The next Alpha course will begin on Wednesday, 1st October at 7pm in Whitwick Coffee Shop and will last for eleven weekly sessions.
A meal will be provided at the beginning of each evening and this will be followed by a talk on various subjects such as "Who is Jesus?" "How does God guide us?" "Why and how do I pray?" "Does God heal today?" and many more..
Who attends Alpha courses?
They are open to anyone who wishes either to explore Christianity for the first time, or is already a Christian and wishes to learn more about their faith.
Some people think that Christianity is for women and weak men but this is not reflected in articles from the latest ‘Alpha News’, free copies of which will be in church shortly. In one article, Ugo Monye, who plays Rugby for both Harlequins and England, tells how attending Alpha has changed his life. Another life changing story is written by Charlie Simpson, the lead singer of the pop group. ‘Busted’. Do read these articles.
Why not give Alpha a try? It could change your life too. It is hoped, also, to run a daytime Alpha course, details of which will be available shortly.
If you are interested in joining an Alpha course, please contact Jill Shreeve-Williams on 01530 837889

It was better than I thought; brill!
I was apprehensive but I enjoyed it.
It was a nice way of meeting new people and making meaningful friendships.
I really looked forward to coming each week.
It was encouraging.
Finding out about other people's experiences really made you think and gave you confidence to think for yourself.
It's not dull and boring.
It was having your opinion heard and being accepted.
At the end of the course it is usual to have some kind of celebration. The photos below are from the last Alpha Celebration, where all the people who had cooked for us and spoken were also invited.
