Tanzania Links
The Diocese of Leicester has long established links with the Diocese of Mount Kilimanjaro and the new Diocese of Kiteto in Tanzania.
In order to refresh and re-vitalise these links, the Bishops of the Dioceses of Kiteto and Kilimanjaro spent 4 weeks in the Diocese of Leicester during Autumn 2011 at the invitation of Bishop Tim.

Diocese of Kiteto
The exciting development of a new diocese.
On 25th February 2009 The first bishop for the Diocese of Kiteto - Bishop Isaiah Chambala- was elected.
The Diocese was inaugurated and Bishop Isaiah consecrated on 12th July 2009.
Bishop Issiah visited Leicester Diocese on in September / October 2011 and spent an evening with our Crusader group.
We were privileged to host Revd Peter Mkengi in Whitwick for 10 days during his study and exchange visit to the UK in May 2006.
He played a key role coordinating the training of Pastors in what is now the new diocese. He is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Applied Theology. .
School Building at Kibaya, Kiteto
For several years we have raised funds for a school building project in Kibaya, Tanzania. Our Crusader group have exchanged letters with children at the school.

Leicester Diocese - DMK Group
Kevin Godfrey is a member of the Leicester Diocese - Dioceses of Mount Kilimanjaro / Kiteto Group.
The group meets several times each year to coordinate efforts within this diocese to deepen our relationship with and provide support to the church in Tanzania.
