HYFC September Prayer Update
Dear prayer supporters,
The summer is finally at an end and a new term with new challenges and new projects begins. This summer we have seen God working with our young people in some amazing ways.
Summer is camp season and HYFC was involved five camps through July and August.
Over twenty young people from our different clubs came to Satellite campout. This was held locally and we had a great time of fellowship, fun and learning with the theme being made for a purpose. We took a group of young people to WEC camp and God really spoke into their lives. Including one girl giving her life to Jesus. Soul Survivor was held towards the end of August in Peterborough. HYFC took a group from across our clubs and they had an amazing time, worshiping and praying for each other, and one of our group gave their life to Jesus at the event. Ibstock Baptist Church as part of the Hub club held and indoor camp and a group of our young people camped out inside the Church. As a result we saw young people in the following morning’s service that had never been to Church before. HYFC and St Christopher’s Church held a day camp for our clubs in Ellistown it was packed full of activities and food with a very pirate like theme to encourage the children and young people to seek for the real treasure that is Jesus.
Please pray for all the young people who attended these camps that God will continue to do a work in them as they have start back at school and college.
With the start of the school term comes the start of our regular clubs and activities.
Monday and Thursday we are doing lunch clubs in Castle Rock and Newbridge.
Monday, Thursday and Friday we have four youth clubs running: Y-Café, Ellistown AFC, Whitwick “whatever” youth Club, and The Hub at Ibstock.
We are also running a personal challenge on Monday afternoons at Castle Rock and providing chaplaincy in the Studio school at Stephenson College on Tuesdays.
The street is still an import part of our outreach at Stephenson College as well on a Tuesday.
We are also involved in helping churches with their outreach activities to young people as needed so of these activities are as a one off and some are ongoing for a time.
We are also involved in discipleship with young people who attend different churches. As you can see there are many projects and programs that we are involved in but all these are just vehicles to interact with young people and although it is easier to say what we are doing, we really ask that you pray for people not projects.
Pray that the young people will see Jesus in all we do and say.
Pray that the young people who know Jesus will be bold to share their faith with their friends.
Pray for young people that they will settle back into school well and quickly.
Pray as so many already feel the pressure of exams even at the beginning of the year.
Pray for the staff that we will have strength and wisdom
Pray that we will bring truth and light and Jesus to all the situations we are in
Pray that our hearts will always be full of compassion for the young people as Jesus heart was.
Pray that we will continue to have favour with the different institutions and establishments across the area.
Pray that we will have the finance needed to continue the work.
Pray for more trustees and prayer partners to come forward to share in the work.
